Travel Clinic FAQs

Here's all the info you need to book a travel clinic appointment in Sheffield.

1. When should I book my travel vaccinations?

You should book your travel vaccination appointment at least 6–8 weeks before your departure. Some vaccines require multiple doses or time to become effective, so early planning ensures full protection.

2. Which travel vaccines do you offer at your Sheffield pharmacy travel clinic?

We provide a wide range of vaccines, including Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Cholera, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis, Tick-borne Encephalitis, and Meningitis ACWY (required for Hajj & Umrah). We also offer malaria prevention tablets.

3. Are any travel vaccines free on the NHS?

Yes, certain vaccines such as Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Cholera, and Polio boosters are available free on the NHS but that is up to your GP - please ask them about it. Other vaccines like Yellow Fever, Rabies, and Japanese Encephalitis are private and are always chargeable. All the travel vaccines we offer are chargeable.

4. Do I need proof of vaccination for travel?

Some countries require an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) for entry, especially for Yellow Fever and Meningitis ACWY for Hajj/Umrah. We provide official certificates after vaccination.

5. Can I get last-minute travel vaccinations?

Sometimes we can offer same-day and urgent appointments for last-minute travellers. Please call the pharmacy to see if there is availability. However, early booking is recommended for maximum protection.
